Roam in the Park is the easygoing daytime corner of the Roam family. Set inside Houghton Hall Park, built around the people who already love this place. In many ways, it’s the closest we get to where Roam started.
This is where Roam comes home.
Roam started with a single coffee van and a simple goal, to serve great coffee and fresh food at the heart of the local community.
Operating in and around Houghton Regis, that first van quickly became part of local routines. Dog walkers. Runners. Families. Local businesses popping by between meetings. They were our first regulars, and the relationships that grew around that van shaped everything Roam has done since.
One van turned into a fleet. The fleet became Roam Cafe & Bistro on the high street. The cafe became Roam Events & Catering, now supporting weddings, corporate days, and partnerships with Ride London, Cancer Research UK, Luton Town FC and the Mounted Games Association of Great Britain, across Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire and Buckinghamshire.
Next year marks ten years since that first coffee van. The business has grown. The values haven’t.

The original van served the same people the park serves today… dog walkers, families, runners, locals who know the shortcut. So when the chance came to open inside Houghton Hall Park, it didn’t feel like a new venture. It felt like a homecoming, in a slightly different uniform.
This site is a relaxed, daytime, grab-and-go space built around what the park already is. Somewhere people come to walk, run, ride, play, breathe. We just added the coffee, the breakfasts and somewhere to sit when the legs need a minute.

Butcher’s sausages, smoked bacon, homemade soup, fresh bread. The basics, done well. Same kitchen standards and 5-star Food Hygiene ratings that run through the rest of the Roam business.
Brewed properly
Proper coffee, trained baristas, milk alternatives at no extra cost because that shouldn’t be a question anymore.
Welcomed properly
Dogs, kids, buggies, muddy boots, big groups, solo mornings with a book. All of it. No fuss. Professional doesn’t have to mean impersonal.
